Homemade Salad Mix in a Bag
Ingredients
Method
- Open ONE zippered bag.
- Add more or less of each ingredient: 1 cup of torn lettuce, 12 halved tomatoes (grape or cherry), 1/2 cup cremini mushrooms, 1/2 cup shredded carrots, 1/2 cup chopped onions, 1/2 cup cucumbers, 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese, 1/2 cup corn kernels (optional), 1/2 cup walnuts (optional), 1/2 cup pineapple chunks (optional).
- Zip bag until sealed. Shake to evenly distribute ingredients (optional).
- Repeat instructions for second Homemade Salad Mix In A Bag.
- Refrigerate for up to 3 days without dressing. When ready to eat, pour contents in a medium bowl and drizzle with salad dressing. Serve with crackers or croutons.
- Whisk together all ingredients in a small bowl or jar. Cover and refrigerate 30 minutes before serving.
- NOTE: This dressing is thick. When mixed in with the salad, it will automatically thin a little. However, if you prefer a pourable dressing, add 1/2 teaspoon of fresh lemon juice or 1/2 teaspoon of milk. Whisk until well combined.
