However, the water in my Hard Boiled Eggs is seasoned with one ingredient: salt.
It’s smart to have options.
Both recipes are effective. The ingredients do not penetrate the eggs and do not change their taste.

WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A HARD BOILED EGG AND A SOFT BOILED EGG?
Hard boiled eggs have a solid yolk and a solid white. Delicious alone or served in a variety of salads.
Soft boiled eggs are partially cooked leaving a raw or semi-raw yolk and a soft white. Usually served in an egg cup and eaten with a spoon.

THE INGREDIENTS FOR BOILING EGGS
Never boil eggs in plain water because the shells will stick to the whites.
Before I learned to “season the water,” my hard boiled eggs were always messed up with missing chunks of whites that create deep dents.
The difference between hard boiled eggs and soft boiled eggs is the texture.
HOW TO MAKE SMOOTH HARD BOILED EGGS
Add salt and apple cider vinegar (or white distilled vinegar) to the water before boiling eggs to help shells slide off easily. The taste will not be affected.
STEP 1: Carefully place fresh eggs in the bottom of an empty saucepan.
Dropping fresh eggs in a saucepan filled with water will very likely cause cracking
STEP 2: Cover with water.
STEP 3: Season with salt and apple cider vinegar (or white distilled vinegar).
STEP 4: Boil eggs for 10 minutes over high heat.
STEP 4: Use a slotted spoon to carefully remove hard boiled eggs from hot water.
STEP 5: Place hard boiled eggs in bowl of iced water. Make sure the cold water covers each egg.
Place bowl uncovered in refrigerator (not freezer) for 30 minutes.
STEP 6: Lightly tap each chilled egg on a flat surface to avoid dents. Heavily tapping a boiled egg on the side of a bowl, cup or glass will cause deep dents.
STEP 7: Gently remove eggshells and enjoy!
Slice hard boiled eggs with a sharp serrated knife because it easily slices through the whites and yolks.
