French Toast Breakfast Sandwich is a hearty main dish made with cooked sausage patties sandwiched between two slices of French toast.

It’s drizzled with honey and lightly sprinkled with powdered sugar.

Drizzle with Homemade Maple Pancake Syrup.

Pairs well with hash browns and scrambled eggs.

Serve for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

MY INSPIRATION

The inspiration for this recipe started early one morning when I needed a hearty breakfast before editing a series of recipe videos.  I can concentrate better after eating.

No stomach growls (laugh)!

After a quick brainstorm, I decided to combine two favorites:  French toast and sausage.  Using available ingredients, I whipped up a French Toast Breakfast Sandwich for breakfast.

Some of the ingredients.
Sliced honey wheat bread is my favorite.  However, any sliced bread will work.

Restaurants serve French toast with butter (not margarine), maple syrup and powdered sugar.   The possibilities are endless. French toast can be topped with just about anything.
