Cuisine: American, southern
Servings: 6 burgers
- 2 pounds ground beef or ground chuck
- 1/2 teaspoon salt Or use Season All Salt.
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 2 teaspoons Worchestershire Sauce
- 1-1/2 teaspoons Liquid Smoke See recipe notes.
- 1 large egg, beaten
- vegetable oil cooking spray Or use 1-1/2 teaspoons vegetable oil.
In medium sized bowl, combine all ingredients. Set aside.
Spray a grill pan or large frying pan with vegetable oil cooking spray. Or use a paper towel to grease with vegetable oil. Warm over low heat until hot (but not smoking).
While warming pan, prepare hamburgers. Scoop 1/4 cup (or more if preferred) of mixture. Roll into ball and flatten to desired thickness.
Placed in hot prepared pan. Cook 2-3 minutes on each side OR until insides are no longer red. Thin burgers cook faster than thick burgers.
Drain on paper towels. Serve warm or hot.
For this recipe, I used Wright's Liquid Smoke. This smoked seasoning contains water and natural hickory smoke concentrate. No preservatives. This is a friendly mention. Not a paid endorsement.
When my gorgeous grill pan arrived awhile back, I photographed it in the box. This excellent cookware provided by Lodge Manufacturing.
