Pour three tablespoons of white distilled vinegar into a small bowl or measuring cup. Add 1/2 teaspoon baking soda. If it’s fresh, the mixture will fizz and bubble vigorously. Discard if the mixture is flat or has a light fizz.
BAKING POWDER
Pour three tablespoons of boiling hot water into a heat proof container. Add 1/2 teaspoon baking powder. If it’s fresh, the mixture will fizz and bubble vigorously. Discard if the mixture is flat or has a light fizz.
