Sautéed Asparagus

  1. Warm olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add asparagus, coarse (or regular) salt, and coarse ground black pepper.
  2. Reduce heat to medium. Stir frequently until asparagus is crisp-tender (4 to 5 minutes). For soft asparagus, continue cooking 2-3 minutes longer.
  3. Stir in lemon zest and cook about 1 minute longer.
  4. Sprinkle lemon juice of sautéed asparagus. Stir until evenly combined. Remove from heat.
  5. Immediately transfer sautéed asparagus onto a serving platter.
  6. Sprinkle each serving with grated or shaved Parmesan cheese (optional).
  7. Garnish with lemon wedges (optional).
